NEWS
Welcome to the new home of the Tinpot Trophy Fantasy Football League! Ahead of the league’s planned migration to the ESPN platform, and to celebrate a decade of all things Tinpot, this website has been created to preserve and build on the legacy of the league, dating back to its inception on the NFL platform in 2016. Feel free to explore the site and reminisce on the history of the league, collated and organized for the first time in a much more accessible and user-friendly way.
The site is currently optimised for desktop viewing only. While it is viewable on mobile devices, it will take a lot more work to customise it for ideal viewing on the smaller screen. So, where possible, please use your desktop or laptop to visit the site for now… and don’t judge it if you use your mobile!
So, why ESPN? The platform (both desktop and mobile) is much cleaner, faster, and easier to navigate than NFL. The mobile app especially offers a much better and more engaging experience during games and/or Redzone. Just wait to see what happens when one of your team gets a touchdown! It’s also more stable and has access to more and better data, given it’s maintained by ESPN analysts.
When the time comes, you should experiment with the mock drafts, to familiarise yourselves with the platform ahead of the league’s official Season 10 draft.
In future seasons, weekly fixtures will be listed on the homepage, along with a brief write-up that will include notes on stats and rivalries in the league. The active season will be linked to in the menu, then archived to the History page when completed.
If there’s anything you would like to see, let Pete Rogers know, and he will look into whether it’s practical to add the additional data/statistics. The site is maintained in his free time.
In 2016, two friends with a mutual love for the National Football League got together to form the Tinpot Trophy, a fantasy league Inspired by the poorly run institutions that littered their job history.
What began as an experiment in killing time on a Sunday has evolved into the prestigious, highly coveted fantasy football championship it is today!
